   For my internship I worked at hART Lounge in Downtown San Diego. hART is an artsy cafe where people can relax, play board games, and eat some great food. Apart from working at the register, I updated their Facebook page and learning about running a business/establishment, it will also help me socialize better with people, which is a great asset to have.

    hART lounge is a place that promotes local artists in San Diego. They promote it through having local art on their walls, and by having open mic night every Friday.

    hART is a great place to hang out, but it's not known by many people, so my project was to get the word out. I did this by posting art on their facebook page, and also helped take pictures for instagram. I also drew a little picture saying how we're pet friendly, and the manager ended up liking it so much that he decided to turn it into a coupon. So now whoever comes in with their pet get 50% off of one item from the menu. Apart from helping out in social media, I was also at the register, and at times got to help make the food. 

 

   I learned that in the working world, you have to be on top of things always, especially when it came to this job. You have to remember people's faces and their orders, and because of that I feel that my memory skills have improved. I also learned that in this kind of job, you always have to think about what's best for the customer. For instance, in sandwiches we usually have to put the chicken on last in case someone is vegan or vegetarian, and if any food is even a little expired we have to throw it out just in case someone gets sick. 

 

   This will be beneficial if I ever want to apply to any other jobs in the food serving industry since I have some experience now. Being able to memorize things faster will also come in handy in the future, since I feel that a lot of jobs do require some sort of memorization. What I'm most proud of is that I got better at not forgetting peoples orders, because at first I wasn't doing very well, but by the end I had gotten it down.
